Complaint for Credit Card Charges on Fragrance Backpackers Hotel

This is regarding our stay at Fragrance Backpackers Hotel on the nights of March 28 to 29, 2008.

Based on the reservations we did, we have booked for 11 persons in 2 units of dorm rooms. We have used the credit card details of Roselle X. Xxxxxx to reserve for all 11 persons.

When we arrived on March 28 at Fragrance Backpackers Hotel and checked-in, we have informed the 2nd Officer on duty at that time, Mitch, that 3 of our companions won't be checking in anymore. He said that it wasn't a problem and he will just check in the rest of the 8 persons at that time.

Also, we have asked permission from Mitch if it was okay to use another credit card to pay for all 8 persons checking in, instead of using Roselle X. Xxxxxx' credit card. A total of 352 Singaporean dollars was charged under Dennis Xxxxxxx's credit card.

On our last day night at Fragrance Backpackers Hotel, we have been informed by another officer on duty at that time that we were supposed to have been charged with a cancellation fee for our 3 companions who were not able to check-in with us on March 28. We complained about this since we have not been properly informed about this when we checked-in. Mitch, the officer on duty when we checked-in on March 28, should have notified all of us that there was a cancellation fee to be charged should the guest is a no-show.

We understand, though, that our sudden cancellation meant loss of business for your hotel. We know that our 3 companions should have been charged with 22 Singaporean dollars each (a total of 66 Singaporean dollars).

However, when the credit card statement of account of Roselle X. Xxxxxx arrived today, she's being charged with a total of 132 Singaporean dollars. This means that Ms. Xxxxxx has been charged with cancellation fees of our 3 companions. However, instead of charging for one night only, she's being charged with a total of two nights.

We would appreciate it if this charges can be changed to 66 Singaporean dollars immediately, as even in your website, it clearly states the following: "Any amendments or cancellations must be made 72 hours prior to your arrival; otherwise a one night’s stay charge will be imposed."
